One day a young boy stopped the old man and asked Why do you throw the Starfish back into the sea? It dosent matter. They will only wash up on the shore tomorrow. The Old Man bent over, picked up another and threw it as far as he could into the sea, and replied... it made a difference to that one.

Donations Needed
Due to the slow down in the economy , our cash donations have slowed down but the number of pets brought into the shelter have increased.
The Humane Society is not funded by any governmental agency and we have no paid employees. We are an all volunteer organization, funded by grants and individuals such as your-self.
All cash donations are used to offset the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, vaccine immunizations, rabies vaccinations, medical supplies, health tests, emergency treatment, veteranary bills, and many other operational costs benifiting the animals.
Due to the slowdown of adoptions we have been looking throughout the region for a 12 passenger van, that we can purchase and use to transport homeless pets to various rescue organizations where they are being adopted out to forever homes. Why a Van of this type. It has rear Air-Conditioning and Heat and can be used in the heat of the summer and cold of winter.
Fund Raisers have been held and we have saved as much as we can, but now we need you help not only for the purchase, but the gasoline, insurance and up keep.
